Phantom Blade Zero releases on October 28, 2026 in the United States for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. The U.S. PlayStation Store lists the Standard Edition at $59.99 and the Digital Deluxe Edition at $69.99. Steam and Epic Games Store pages are also live for PC.
The date needs a country label. S-GAME’s global site displays October 29, while PlayStation’s latest release note explicitly says October 28 in the U.S. and select regions. An older official trailer advertised September 9 worldwide; that date has been superseded. If a search result still says September, it is out of date.
Release status at a glance
| Question | Verified answer on August 28, 2026 |
|---|---|
| U.S. release date | October 28, 2026 |
| Global date shown by S-GAME | October 29, 2026 |
| PlayStation | PS5 confirmed; U.S. digital preorder is live |
| PC | Steam and Epic Games Store confirmed for Windows |
| U.S. price | $59.99 Standard; $69.99 Digital Deluxe |
| Xbox | No official Xbox edition or release date was found in the current S-GAME, PlayStation, Steam and Epic routes checked for this guide |
| Physical PS5 copy | No official U.S. physical SKU was identified in the official S-GAME and PlayStation Store routes checked for this guide |
| Public demo | No public download was found on the official site or current U.S. PlayStation, Steam and Epic product routes |
| Preorder reward | Early access to the Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit; both can also be earned through normal game progression |
“No official page found” is a dated status, not a claim that an Xbox or physical edition can never exist. S-GAME can add another platform or retail route later. This guide will change the answer only when a first-party page or a dated publisher announcement supports it.
Why October 28 and October 29 can both be correct
PlayStation’s August 17 update gives the clearest regional explanation: October 29 is the headline launch date, with a footnote that says October 28 in the United States and select regions. The U.S. PlayStation Store lists an unlock timestamp of 02:00 UTC on October 29. That converts to 10:00 p.m. Eastern and 7:00 p.m. Pacific on October 28, while U.S. daylight saving time is still in effect.
Steam separately lists October 28. The practical answer for a U.S. buyer is therefore October 28, not October 29. Readers elsewhere should use their local store rather than converting the U.S. time.
What happened to the September 9 date?
S-GAME’s official December 2025 release-date trailer named September 9, 2026 worldwide. The current S-GAME site, PlayStation announcement and first-party stores now show the October date. Those newer official records replace the trailer’s older date.
This is why a page can look authoritative and still be wrong: it may be quoting a real announcement that is no longer current. Check the date on the source, then check the live store.
Standard or Digital Deluxe: what the extra $10 buys
Both editions include the full game. The Digital Deluxe Edition adds two outfits, the digital artbook and the soundtrack.
| Included item | Standard — $59.99 | Digital Deluxe — $69.99 |
|---|---|---|
| Full game | Yes | Yes |
| Treasure Basin early unlock | Preorder | Preorder |
| Legacy outfit early unlock | Preorder | Preorder |
| Wulin Legend outfit | — | Yes |
| Blood-Steel Form outfit | — | Yes |
| Digital artbook | — | Yes |
| Digital soundtrack | — | Yes |
The two preorder items are not described as permanently exclusive. S-GAME and the PlayStation Store both say they can be obtained through in-game progression. Preordering changes when they unlock; it does not create two otherwise unobtainable items.
The Deluxe outfits are listed as Deluxe Edition content. The official pages reviewed here do not state that they can be earned in the Standard Edition, so do not extend the “available through progression” note to those outfits.
Which platform page should you use?
| Platform | Current official route | Useful boundary |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation 5 | U.S. PlayStation Store | Digital Standard and Digital Deluxe are live; this is not evidence of a PS4 version or physical disc |
| Steam | Official Steam product page | Windows release, prices, languages, DRM disclosure and hardware requirements are listed |
| Epic Games Store | Official Epic product page | Windows preorder is live; check Epic’s live terms before buying |
| Xbox | No first-party listing found in the reviewed set | Do not treat an autocomplete suggestion, retailer placeholder or forum answer as an announcement |
| Physical PS5 | No U.S. first-party SKU found in the reviewed set | A digital store page does not prove that no disc will ever be sold |
For a preorder, start at S-GAME’s official Phantom Blade Zero site and follow its platform button. That avoids similarly named marketplace listings and gives the publisher a single place to update its routes.
PC requirements in plain language
S-GAME has published separate minimum, recommended, ray-tracing and path-tracing targets. Every listed tier requires a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 system, DirectX 12, 16 GB of memory and an SSD.
| Target | Processor | Graphics card | Published performance target |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | GTX 1660 6 GB or RX 5500 XT 8 GB | 1080p, 30 fps, upscaling enabled |
| Recommended | Intel Core i5-10600K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X | RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB or RX 6700 XT 12 GB | 1440p, 60 fps, upscaling enabled |
| Ray tracing | Use the other recommended requirements | RTX 5060 8 GB | 1080p, 60 fps, upscaling enabled |
| Path tracing | Use the other recommended requirements | RTX 5080 16 GB | 2160p, 60 fps, upscaling enabled |
These are publisher targets, not our benchmark results. They do not promise identical frame rates in every scene, and they can change before launch. Steam also discloses third-party Denuvo DRM. Buyers who care about that should recheck the live Steam disclosure before paying.
What “wuxia” and “kungfupunk” mean here
Calling Phantom Blade Zero a Chinese action game says where the studio comes from; it does not explain the game’s visual system.
Wuxia is the storytelling tradition built around martial figures, codes of conduct, rival schools, obligations, reputation and movement through a social world often called the jianghu or wulin. It is not simply “sword fighting in old China.” S-GAME uses Wulin as the name for the contested martial world Soul moves through, and its current material connects side quests with changing story paths inside that world.
Kungfupunk is S-GAME’s own label for the mixture it is constructing: martial-arts choreography and traditional visual references beside mechanical prosthetics, industrial ruins and modern rock. Treat it as the developer’s description, not the name of an established historical genre.
That combination is easier to see in motion than in a specification table. The August State of Play shows combat builds built from more than 30 main weapons and 25 secondary Phantom Edges. It also shows why Donnie Yen’s involvement is more than a celebrity cameo: S-GAME credits him as a creative consultant and as the facial and motion-capture performer for Mó Yuan, Soul’s father. Those are publisher descriptions; this guide has not independently assessed the finished choreography.
For another current Chinese game where a familiar English label hides a more specific cultural figure, read who Zhong Kui is in the new Black Myth game. For the translation choices that shape what an English-speaking player notices, see what Black Myth: Wukong leaves untranslated.
Questions readers ask next
What is the Phantom Blade Zero release date in the United States?
October 28, 2026. S-GAME’s global site uses October 29, but PlayStation explicitly identifies October 28 for the United States and select regions. Steam also shows October 28.
Was Phantom Blade Zero delayed?
The current official date is later than the September 9, 2026 worldwide date in S-GAME’s December 2025 trailer. The live publisher and store pages now supersede that older announcement.
How much does Phantom Blade Zero cost?
The U.S. PlayStation Store lists $59.99 for Standard and $69.99 for Digital Deluxe. Check the live storefront for tax and any later price or promotion change.
Is Phantom Blade Zero on PS5 and PC?
Yes. PlayStation 5, Steam and Epic Games Store have official product pages. No PS4 or Mac version is established by those pages.
Is Phantom Blade Zero coming to Xbox?
No official Xbox edition or release date was found in the current publisher and first-party store routes checked on August 28. That means “not announced here,” not “impossible.”
Is there a physical PS5 edition?
No official U.S. physical SKU was identified in the S-GAME and PlayStation routes checked for this guide. The confirmed U.S. preorder is digital. Treat retailer placeholders separately until the publisher or an authorized retailer gives a verifiable SKU.
Is there a Phantom Blade Zero demo?
No public demo download was found on the official S-GAME site or the current U.S. PlayStation, Steam and Epic product routes checked on August 28. The State of Play is a gameplay presentation, not a downloadable demo. A past event build or creator preview also does not establish a public home demo.
Are the preorder bonuses exclusive?
No. The Treasure Basin accessory and Legacy outfit are early unlocks, and the official pages say both can also be obtained through game progression.
Does Phantom Blade Zero have English audio?
Steam currently lists both English and Simplified Chinese full audio, plus interface and subtitle support in additional languages. Platform and regional language packages can differ, so check the store used for purchase.
